In blasting technology for open-pit mines, long ago the Corporation has used ANFO, NTR and emulsion explosives packer. The disadvantage of emulsion explosives packer is that they must be manually produced – packed – stored – reserved – transported and loaded mines, therefore, the productivity from production to loading mines is not high, expensive, and unsafety due to using labor works at many stages of the process.
To increase labor productivity, reduce production costs, reduce labor involved in processes, contribute to reducing the risk of unsafety, automation technology and machanization in production and loading ANFO and NTR explosives by specialized filling mixing equipment in open-pit mines that have long been used in the world.

For the Mining Chemical Industry Corporation -Vinacomin together with previous investment projects, there were 07 vehicles producing and loaded with explosives ANFO, NTR07. Due to the blasting conditions in many different fields, the number of vehicles is limited, these production vehicles have to go to the supplying location at the manufacturing area and transit far to the loading location, so the production is not fully utilized due to the time for production and loading daily is very limited. Only 15% of using mechanization capacity are spent for production and loading mines.
Before 2015, all explosives production vehicles used by MICCO were supplied by foreign manufacturers because similar equipment was not yet able to be produced domestically. The maintenance and repair of hardware and software must depend on the manufacturer, so it is difficult, the cost is still high, the response time is slow. With equipment from many different manufacturers, the interchangeability and replacement between vehicles is acceptable.
In order to avoid investment in more equipment, it is necessary to self-study the design and manufacture of more production equipment and research solutions to effectively use current equipment: In addition to reducing the initial cost, investing also avoids dependence on the supplier’s spare parts and supplies, which are more suitable for the production and loading mines conditions in Vietnam, as the mining conditions are different from those in other countries;
In order to enhance the mechanization of production and mine loading, over the past years, MICCO has promoted S&T work, technical innovation initiatives to rationalize production to increase labor productivity, in which design research has been conducted. It is possible to manufacture vehicles for ANFO production and loading, and vehicles for NTR production and loading to replace equipment requiring import investment, proactive production equipment, and low-cost spare parts compared to imported equipment …; Study to design and manufacture base emulsion carriers and mobile refueling stations for explosives production vehicles at the site to promote existing motorized equipment, improve mechanizing production and mine loading. Combined with the method of effective use of explosives NTR07 (reducing the spark plug, increasing the height of the pillar makes the distribution of explosives when loading mines more suitable to promote the technical features and superiority of the explosives NTR07) has improved the mechanization rate of the mine charge from 15% to over 60%; Study, design and manufacture explosive pelletizing machines in order to increase automation in production lines, improve equipment productivity, reduce labor force, and ensure to reduce the risk of unsafety, stability and quality of packaged products. Thereby contributing to lower costs in making similar products in the future;
Through implementing S&T missions, MICCO has raised the qualifications of the staff and technical workers, contributing to the ownership of equipment in the whole Corporation; Create jobs for officers and workers in MICCO and other units in the country, promoting internal strengths.
