Fillers

Being chemically fairly inert and white in color, aluminum oxide is the preferred filler in the plastics industry. In addition, aluminum oxide is a common ingredient in sunscreens and is sometimes present in cosmetics such as powder, lipstick, and nail polish.

Used for Glass products

Aluminum is a common ingredient in most types of glass, it increases the durability and resistance to high temperatures of the glass.

Catalysts

Aluminum oxide is the catalyst for a wide range of industrial reactions. The biggest application of aluminum oxide is as a catalyst in the Claus process to convert H 2 S emissions into sulfur in the refinery. They are also used as catalysts in the preparation of alkenes from the oxidation of alcohol.

Aluminum oxides serve as a support catalyst for other types of industrial catalysts, such as they are used in hydrodesulfurization and some Ziegler-Natta polymerization, polymerization reactions.

Paint

Aluminum oxide is used in the paint industry to create reflective substances.

Especially, applied for paints used in the automotive and cosmetic industries.
